Dear Families,

We are communicating to you today as we have had several incidents over the last week that demonstrated how anxious students across grade levels are because of recent school shootings and mass shootings. We are obviously devastated to hear about the mass shooting and our hearts go out to these students, families, school staff, and the community.

Representatives from the Substance Used Disorder and Homeless Initiatives (SUDHI) , the Police Department, and State officials will provide information about opioids and fentanyl as well as answer questions from participants.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

This letter is to inform you of our Health Screening Programming that is provided here within Revere Public Schools throughout your student’s academic experience. All health screenings conducted in our schools are required by Massachusetts State Law. These Screenings are ongoing throughout the school year, and throughout a student’s time within Revere Public Schools. Parents and legal guardians shall be provided with an opportunity to request, in writing, that their child not participate in the variety of screening programming.

Dear Families,

The Commonwealth, the Northeast and much of the US are seeing increases in respiratory illness in infants and children. Some of these infants and children are requiring hospitalization for support with breathing and hydration. Emergency departments and other acute care health facilities have been managing significant increases in the number of patients requiring care.

Dear Revere Public Schools community,

Tonight we passed a huge milestone in the building of the new Revere High School as the City Council voted to fund the taking of the property that formerly housed the Wonderland Dog Track for the purpose of building this new school.

Revere Public Schools will be celebrating American Education Week from November 14th - November 18th. American Education Week is a great time to honor our students daily work and accomplishments.

Dear Families,

We are sending this communication to all RPS families as there has been some confusion about changes to our transportation policy for middle and high school students this year. Only those high school students who live two miles or more from RHS or Seacoast are eligible for school transportation. Only those middle school students who live one mile or more from their middle school are eligible for public school transportation.

Dear Families and Staff, We are communicating to you about the events today in Uvalde, Texas, where a school shooting occurred in an elementary school where a gunman killed 14 students and one teacher. We recognize that this is recent information and acknowledge that news and details of the incident will evolve in the coming hours and days.
